Director of Facilities and Maintenance

  • General Description
    • Candidate will manage a group of direct facilities, janitorial, and safety personnel
    • The ideal candidate will serve a significant role on the IMT strategy team to develop and guide long-term growth planning, including capital equipment budget and equipment selection
    • Manage facilities and safety personnel
    • Perform and manage improvements and repairs on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
    • New facilities and equipment installations, including fab space planning
    • Safety improvement
    • Permit submission and renewal/maintenance
    • Oversee waste disposal activities and waste water treatment system
    • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and regulators
    • Respond to tenant issues based on scope of lease
    • Regulatory compliance: e.g., APCD, SWRCB, County CUPA, Cal OSHA, DTSC
    • Mentor and develop maintenance team
  • Work Experience, Education, and Physical Requirements
    • Hands on working knowledge of facilities operations, including troubleshooting and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pneumatics systems, and safety
    • Working knowledge of cleanroom environmental requirements and maintenance activities

Test Engineer

  • General Description
    • Seeking an experienced Test Engineer to perform advanced DC and RF testing, reliability testing, and device characterization on various MEMS, including data analysis and report generation
    • Candidate must have experience developing test methodologies for characterizing and validating the performance of RF devices, preferably MEMS devices
    • Must be capable of working independently to design and implement test routines using LabView, VBA, Python, and/or C++ for various test and data acquisition systems
    • Write reports using Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • A broad background in RF testing using Network and Spectrum Analyzers, as well as signal generators and oscilloscopes, is required for this position
    • This position requires spending considerable time working in a Class 100 cleanroom, and must be able to lift 30 pounds
  • Work Experience, Education, and Physical Requirements
    • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with the following tools: Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Impedance Analyzers, and Data Acquisition Systems
    • Minimum 5 years of experience working with LabView, C++, Python, and/or VBA • Minimum 5 years of experience testing and characterizing RF semiconductor and MEMS devices
    • A college degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, preferably in electrical engineering
    • Hands on experience setting up and performing massively parallel reliability testing on MEMS or Semiconductor devices
    • Excellent Microsoft Office and communication skills

Maintenance Engineer

  • General Description
    • Work with maintenance team or alone to identify, troubleshoot, and improve equipment uptime in semiconductor/MEMS fab
    • Work with vendors, field service, and technical representatives
    • Order parts, attend shift pass-down meetings, and communicate daily activities
    • Make database entries to document all work performed on equipment
    • Requires wearing cleanroom attire and working in a cleanroom environment
    • Standing for long periods and lifting 60+ lbs is required
    • May be required to wear PPE and be exposed to chemicals
    • Experience with advanced semiconductor equipment is preferred: e.g., Nikon stepper, Veeco PVD, and STS PECVD, Tystar LPCVD, ICP etchers, SVG/TEL coater tracks, Suss wafer bonders, Plasmatherm RIE, and robotic wet benches

    • Requires 10 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of complex electromechanical devices

Process Engineer

  • General Description
    • Seeking a process engineering candidate to help develop and integrate processes for MEMS fabrication to ensure quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met
    • Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes for development and production of MEMS products
    • Create, edit, and maintain necessary documentation
    • Monitor and improve the efficiency, output, and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements of data
    • Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians for quality control
    • Assume responsibility for safety and environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes
  • Work Experience, Education, and Physical Requirements
    • BS/BA in a scientific discipline required
    • Great communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
    • Hands-on experience in silicon and glass wafer processing a plus
    • Experience with stepper-based photolithography, vacuum and wet processing, wafer to wafer bonding, microstructure electroplating a plus
    • Ability to work in both a clean room environment and office environment
    • Ability to work in a Clean Room for most of the day

Manufacturing Engineer

  • General Description
    • Candidate will provide engineering support to production programs in the wafer fab
    • Duties will include dispositioning of discrepant material, assisting with technician and operator training, some wafer fab processing
  • Detailed Job Duties
    • Overall support of production programs
    • Dispositioning of discrepant material
    • Assisting with technician and operator training
    • Some wafer fab processing
    • Review process control data and evaluate process for ability to meet specifications
    • Generate yield improvement ideas and implement or assist in the implementation of yield improvement activities
    • Assist in improving production efficiency, such as reduction of unneeded process steps, reduction in operation times, and reduction in tech/operator time in processing parts
    • Generate engineering change documents and generate process procedures when necessary
  • Work Experience, Education, and Physical Requirements
    • BS college degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience in semiconductor fabrication
    • Equivalent work experience in semiconductor fabrication – 5 Years
    • Working knowledge of fab processes; MEMS experience a plus
    • Excellent technical skills, problem solving ability
    • Working knowledge of statistics and statistical quality control
    • Good verbal and communication skills

Process Development Engineer

  • General Description
    • Develop the processes for MEMS fabrication to ensure quality, cost and efficiency requirements are met
    • Troubleshoot development problems with the fabrication process and take corrective action
    • Research the purchase of equipment or upgrades to existing equipment
    • Work closely with management and customers on technical issues and problem resolution
    • Compile and present data to management and customers during product development and production.

    • Evaluate, implement and monitor wafer fabrication processes and operating lithography, vacuum, electroplating, and wet etch systems for the development and production of MEMS products
    • Create process flow and DOEs
    • Create/edit/maintain necessary documentation
    • Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of manufacturing processes through observations and measurements of data
    • Work closely with other Engineers and Technicians for quality control
    • Assume responsibility for safety/environmental issues and ongoing performance of processes
    • Must be available to work all shifts

  • Work Experience, Education, and Physical Requirements
    • A minimum of 4 years hands-on experience in silicon and glass wafer processing
    • Experience with stepper-based photolithography, vacuum and wet processing, wafer to wafer bonding, microstructure electroplating
    • MEMS Testing methods, SEM and AFM characterization
    • PhD preferred but minimum of a MS/MA in a scientific discipline required
    • Great communication, interpersonal, and computer skills
    • Ability to work in both a clean room environment and office environment
    • Must be able to don and wear Personal Protective Equipment as required
